Biography

Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Maria Berezovska studied at the Ukrainian State Conservatory of Music in Odesa, at the Academy of Lyric Art of Ancona and at the Ukrainian National Music Academy in Odesa where she finished a Master of Music in the guidance of prof. Halyna Polyvanova.

Ms. Berezovska is Laureate of the International Singing Competition “Anatoliy Solovianenko” in Ukraine; Diplomat of vocal competition in Toulouse, France and Finalist of the vocal competition in Vercelli, Italy. She takes part in festival performances in Crete (Greece) under the direction of Gunnar Stromsholm and works as soloist at the Ukrainian National Philharmonic in Odesa.

Since 2011 Maria has been the leading dramatic mezzo-soprano of the Ukrainian National Opera in Kyiv, an invited soloist at European Opera Houses and at other Ukrainian Opera Houses, including the annual Solomiya Krushelnytska International Opera Festival in the Ukrainian National Opera in Lviv.

Ms. Berezovka’s upcoming roles include Ortrud (Lohengrin / Estonian National Opera), Azucena (Il Trovatore / Estonian National Opera), Fenena (Nabucco / Silesian Opera), Azucena (Il Trovatore / Grieghallen in Bergen) and Suzuki (Madama Butterfly / Ukrainian National Opera).

In February 2018 Maria made a tour with Polish National Opera Warsaw in “AIDA” as Amneris at the Dubai Opera (conductor: Patrick Fournillier).

Ms. Berezovska’s concert appearances include performances in the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Estonia, Romania, Austria, Italy, France, United Kingdom, United States of America, Greece, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine.
