Biography

Finnish tenor Jasper Leppänen began his studies in voice and trumpet at the Tampere Conservatory and completed his degree at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki in spring 2022. As part of his opera training, he performed the role of Fritz Kobus in Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz and sang the title role in Britten’s Albert Herring.

Leppänen joined the Finnish National Opera in autumn 2023 and made his house debut as Alfred in Strauss’s operetta Die Fledermaus.

He has worked extensively in both musical theatre and opera in Finland. At the Tampere Workers’ Theatre, he has performed in productions such as Momentum 1900 and portrayed Moritz in Spring Awakening. In summer 2025, he sang the male lead in Uljas Pulkkis’s opera Isoviha at the Ilmajoki Music Festival.

Leppänen has also appeared as a soloist with numerous choirs, as well as with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and the Lappeenranta City Orchestra.
