Biography

Gaia Petrone is an esteemed specialist in repertoire of bel canto, baroque and contemporary. In concert, Gaia made her UK debut in Handel’s Messiah Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Other performed concert repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Magnificat, Handel Dixit Dominus, Bach Mass in B Minor and Schutz’s Musikalische Exequien. Gaia was in the young ensemble of Theater an der Wien and sang ANGELINA La Cenerentola, MEDORO Orlando, SIBARI Semiramide riconosciuta and SESTO La Clemenza di Tito. She returned for guest engagements as DAMIGELLA L’incoronazione di Poppea and EMILIA in Rossini’s Otello.

Gaia is a graduate of the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and obtained a Master Degree in Philosophy at Università di RomaTor Vergata.

Her discography includes a live recording of Haydn’s Il mondo della luna Bongiovanni Records, Handel’s Messiah and Czerny’s transcription of Mozart’s Requiem Naxos, Simon Boccanegra Decca, Stradella’s San Giovanni Battista Alpha Classics, Jommelli’s Miserere and Requiem Passacaille, and Donizetti’s Le nozze in villa and Cavalli’s IL XERSE Dynamic.
