Biography

Soprano Anna Immonen started her musical studies in Keski-Savo Music Institute in 1990. Her first instruments were violin and piano.In years 2004-2011 Immonen studied at the Sibelius Academy church music department and finished her master degree in 2011. Her voice teacher in Sibelius Academy has been mezzosoprano Eeva-Liisa Saarinen.
During the Academic year 2013-2014 Anna Immonen studied at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden under the guidance of Prof. KS Olaf Bär. Immonen has taken part on several master classes by e.g. Soile Isokoski, Prof. Jorma Hynninen, Jorma Silvasti and Prof. KS Andreas Schmidt. She has studied baroque singing under guidance of Howard Crook, Eiddwen Harrhy and Päivi Järviö and lied repertoire with pianists Gustav Djupsjöbacka, Tuula Hällström and Ilmo Ranta.

Anna Immonen made her operatic debut at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in 2014 singing Pamina in W.A. Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. In autumn 2014 she made her debut at the Finnish National Opera in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro as The Countess Almaviva.

Anna Immonen has sung soprano solos in many church music works such as J. S. Bach’s Matthäus-Passion, Himmelfahrts-Oratorium and Weihnachtsoratorium, Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, Dvořák’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Händel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus W.A. Mozart’s Die Große Messe in C-moll, Requiem and Laudate Dominum.
